Final Post

I did all 10 posts I needed to! We will all miss you Mr. Hoy!

Sheltering

As I got back, we were setting up a site for us to stay at. For me, I only needed sticks as a roof and leaves as a blanket. I broke off branches to lean up against a large tree. Then I had collected maple leaves from earlier as a blanket because maple tree leaves were the biggest leaf I could find around here.

The Process

First, I have to get a bucket and make a hook to hold the bucket. I made the hole that was needed! Quickly, I carved a hook to attach to the tree. I put the bucket on the hook, then the hook on the tree. I did it a few more times and went back to where the other Voyageurs were...

The Sap of Canada

Next thing that I wanted to do was collect maple syrup because we are planning to be here for a while. All I got to do is punch a big enough hole in the maple tree, that the sap will come out at a fair pace.

Licorice Medicine

I kept looking for plants because some of these plants I see, we don't have where we are... There! A Licorice Fern Plant! These work really well for medical purposes! We used this type of plant in a recipe for medicine!

Himalayan Blackberry!

After my catch, I went to go see what plants were around us and see if any were useful to us. I found a Himalayan blackberry plant. We used these to eat! Very common.

A Good Catch!

"I got one!" I pulled up my weapon and there it was... A beaver! The second I caught it, I headed back to shore where there were trees.

Ahoy! Beaver

We had gotten our tools ready for the pelts we love, beaver. I was so excited to finally start this trip! Without hesitation, I grabbed the canoe we brought with us and headed out for a while.

The Hunt Had Began

We were almost at the shore! I could see the bright blue ocean straight ahead. We pull up to the shoreline and it was beautiful..

Beautiful British Columbia!

The Journey

We were on our way to the west coast to look for beaver pelts because they're worth a lot of coin...
